Treatment of adenovirus infection: what drugs will help? Are antibiotics needed?
When a common form of adenovirus infection is treated, it takes approximately one week to treat the patient.
The attending physician usually diagnoses the disease based on the patient's clinical symptoms and any laboratory test results.
Treatment of adenovirus infection is primarily pharmacological and symptomatic.

Medication treatment consists of giving antipyretics to reduce fever and topical medications to moisten/relax the nasal mucosa and cough. For indigestion, in turn, medications to disinfect the digestive tract and eliminate diarrhea will help.
In the case of a GI infection, a diet that does not aggravate digestion is necessary. It is advisable to avoid heavy fatty foods and dairy products.
