Your hair is falling out more and more and home recipes don't help?
Support your hair with Ayurveda. And you haven't heard of it yet?
Slowed hair growth and hair loss is a global problem. At some age, albeit with individual differences, it waits for all of us.
The causes of thinning and hair loss are varied: from the genetic makeup of the individual to mechanical damage, chemical destruction of the hair and hair follicles to the natural aging process.
Despite the incredible amount of hair, beauty products, medical advances and constant development, more and more people are turning to alternative ways of dealing with baldness and treating it with natural ways.
Tip.
Alternative medicine has been enjoying positive results for many years, despite the still high number of its opponents. It is a natural form of treatment based on the use of natural resources.
It is based on the philosophy that health is the optimal state of the body soul.
Ayurveda = the science of life.
The more sceptical unfortunately pay unnecessarily high amounts for an invasive procedure such as a hair transplant. Yet there is another solution - the plant Eclipta Alba or even bringharaj, which is readily available. It is often used in Ayurveda.
Ayurveda against hair loss
One offshoot of alternative treatment is also Ayurvedic medicine. This concept seems to be new. In fact, it is the oldest system of medicine and also a form of therapy that aims to understand ourselves and get to the core of the problem.
It is only after the cause of the problems is properly identified that a solution can be arrived at.
Ayurveda operates on the basis of the balance of the three doshas. According to Ayurveda, each person has a certain percentage of each dosha within him or her, and they may not be in balance.
Imbalance ⇒ problem/disease
Therefore, the treatment focuses on a healthy lifestyle, bringing them into harmony with each other.
It therefore focuses up to 70% on a healthy diet, herbal treatment, but also on special treatments such as massage, yoga or shirodhara.
These methods bring about a state of balance - the tridosha (natural state).
Table with basic characteristics of doshas
Dosha | Vata | Pitta | Kapha |
Živel | air and ether (universe) | fire and water | earth and water |

Why do some people go bald more and others less?
A hair is a keratinised structure consisting of a pith and a cortex, growing out of a hair sac called a hair follicle. Underneath it is a vascular supply, sebaceous and, sporadically, sweat glands.
On average, there are between 180 and 320 hairs per 1 cm of scalp. For example, African-Americans may have more than this because their natural genetic makeup makes their hair thicker, stronger, darker and curlier compared to the white race. In white people, hair is finer and thinner.
What is the hair cycle?
When it comes to hair growth, it is important to know what the hair growth cycle is. On average, hair grows about 1 to 1.5 cm every month. The length of hair grown in a certain period is very individual and takes different lengths of time for each person. It is this period of time that is professionally called the hair cycle. However, the time of growth is also dependent on factors other than genetics, and these are such as drinking habits, eating habits.
Hair is like flowers. If you don't water it, it dies.
Why do some people's hair fall out more than others?
Every person loses an average of 20 to 100 hairs a day. This is perfectly normal because new hair is being formed.
When they fall out excessively, this number is of course higher. This leads to an imbalance and therefore to balding.
Hair falls out due to various causes, with genetics playing the most important role. Other common causes are natural hair loss due to aging and inactivation of the hair follicles, autoimmune mechanisms and diseases, the influence of male sex hormones on the hair follicle (androgenic influence), chemical and mechanical influences, and also the influence of certain drugs.
Alopecia can also be induced by prolonged stress, poor lifestyle, lack of fluids, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and some diseases (kidney failure, vascular disease, thyroid disease, psoriasis and other skin inflammations mainly bacterial...).
The causes are different and there are also minor differences in male and female.
Bhringaraja - a miracle against baldness
An old-fashioned solution to hair loss is the herb Eclipta alba, also known as bringharaj.
Why old-fashioned?
What we may be hearing for the first time in our lives has been used by people in some countries (especially India) for centuries.
Information about its effects on hair follicles comes to us just through Ayurveda.
Bhringaraja is a plant, or rather a weed, in the Asteraceae family. This predominantly green herb has a hairy stem coloured slightly purple to red and boasts tiny white flowers. It grows to a height of only 35 cm.
It is native to tropical and subtropical areas, especially India, where it is found mainly in wetter places around rivers and lakes in the foothills of the Himalayas.
It can also be found in Brazil, Thailand and China.
Depending on the country in which it grows, you may come across other local names.
In Hindi it is called bhangaara, in Marathi it is called maakaa, in Telugu galgara and otherwise.
In Latin, it is called Eclipta alba, which translates to "ruler of hair". It has been given this name with full right. It is a miracle in the treatment of hair loss and a breakthrough in promoting hair growth.
Bringharaj has really had positive effects, and it has done so in different people, at different ages, different races and for multiple causes.
How does bringharaj work on hair?
The leaves of this about 30 to 40cm herb contain a number of bioactive compounds (e.g. coumestans, tedelolactone, demethylwedeloactone, triterpenes, flavonoids, steroids, sterols, saponins, polypeptides, glycides, polyacetylene derivatives of thiophene and volatile oils).
It is their action that is used in Ayurveda to stimulate hair growth, but also for other therapeutic purposes.
These substances have a positive effect on most of the causes of hair fall and therefore their use guarantees almost 100% effect.
And not only that!
Effects on hair:
- awakens and activates hair follicles
- stimulates the natural growth of new hair by stimulating the follicles
- significantly prolongs the growth phase
- prevents hair loss
- soothes the scalp
- relieves itching of the scalp
- counteracts dry and oily dandruff
- acts as a natural tonic
- improves the quality and therefore the strength of the hair
- gives hair a beautiful volume
- increases shine and softness
- darkens light hair
- delays premature greying (does not pigment existing grey hair)
Those who have not tried it will not believe it.
How to use?
The plant is used in several ways. The most common way is to extract the green powder from the dried leaves of the plant to use as a restorative and nourishing hair mask.
The dried leaf extract is also put into capsules, which are taken internally in the morning and evening one to two capsules, always after meals.
Caution:
The green powder is irritating to the eyes if it hits them.
The eyes should be rinsed thoroughly with clean water.
If the extract is accidentally inhaled into the lungs, it is irritating and makes the lungs cough.
The cough is dry and irritating with audible squeaks.
Bhringaraj helps not only for hair
Apart from preventing hair loss, bringaraj also works on various other ailments.
It is best known for its hepatoprotective effect, i.e. its positive effect on liver cells. It helps to keep the liver and other digestive organs in good condition. In case of liver disease, it speeds up the recovery of damaged hepatocytes. Therefore, its use is advisable in people with liver cirrhosis, inflammatory liver disease or steatosis.
