Treatment of Tietz Syndrome: Drugs and Rehabilitation
The basic prerequisite for successful treatment should be a detailed analysis and an effort to name the connections. The doctor must determine the causes of the chain, since multiple causes can be assumed.
Treatment procedures are based primarily on pain relief. The doctor may recommend medication:
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
- Analgesics
Physical therapy/rehabilitation can be effective to relieve the symptoms of pain. This consists of special stretching exercises (recommended by a physiotherapist) or nerve stimulation. In this, weak electrical currents are sent through the skin to the site of pain to reduce the perception of pain.
In rare cases of bacterial infection, antibiotic treatment is prescribed.
Tietz syndrome and its associated problems often resolve spontaneously within a few days.
