Treatment Endometritis
The administration of antibiotics is necessary.
In severe cases, hospitalization is required in order to administer a combination of antibiotics directly into the vein and thus directly into the bloodstream.
If the inflammation is caused by an STD, it is necessary that the partner is also treated. Both partners must be taking medication at the same time.
In mild inflammations, antibiotics are given in the form of tablets.
The most common combination of antibiotics is Doxycycline with Metronizal if the affected person is a breastfeeding mother. When taken for less than 3 weeks, it is not contraindicated and the mother can continue to breastfeed her baby.
Another common combination is Levofloxacin along with the antibiotic Metronidazole, which is contraindicated and is not given to breastfeeding mothers.
It is also possible to administer Amoxicillin or another antibiotic, determined by the result of a smear culture. Once the causative agent of the infection has been identified, antibiotics of the type to which the bacterium is sensitive are administered.
In moderate and severe inflammations, or in women after a C-section, antibiotics are administered directly into the vein in the hospital.
The condition improves after antibiotic administration usually occurs within 48 to 72 hours of the first dose. If the condition does not improve within 72 hours, other antibiotics are added.
In some cases, vaginal suppositories, topical ointments, and vaginal rinses are recommended.
The duration of antibiotic treatment, as a rule, lasts from 10 days to two weeks.
Analgesics are given for pain, antipyretics for fever, and antispasmodics, e.g. No-Spa tablets, can be given to relieve uterine cramps.
Estrogens are given as hormone therapy to regenerate the lining of the uterus, and it works well on the female reproductive organs as well.
Bed rest, rest and complete restriction of physical activity is essential during treatment.
In the case of untreated endometritis, the mortality rate is up to 17%.
So, it is very important to correctly treat acute forms of uterine inflammation, as well as to exercise prevention with proper hygiene or special soaps.
