Red blood cells do not have certain features on their surface (agglutinogens A or B).

Why are blood types important?
In everyday life we don't realize the importance of this information. In some cases it is necessary to know this detail to save health and life.
In some cases it is important to know the type. Examples are blood loss, anemia, trauma, surgery, organ transplantation.
